Gainbridge offers four annuities — each with different features, tax treatments, and benefits. This guide breaks down how they work so you can decide what fits your goals.
Before we get into all of the products, it helps to understand a few key annuity terms you’ll see throughout this page.
A MYGA allows you to lock in a fixed interest rate for a set number of years — similar to a CD, but with higher interest rates.3
A FIA is credited interest based on the market performance of the index it tracks, but your principal is protected — you won’t lose your original investment even if the market drops.
A feature that guarantees an annual income for life — even if your account balance hits zero.

A multi-year guaranteed annuity (MYGA) with a fixed rate — and the only one that’s non-tax deferred. You can even earn interest and take withdrawals at any age, without the usual IRS early withdrawal tax penalties.
Key benefits
Withdraw 10% annually without penalty
Fixed interest rate for the full term
No fees or commissions
CD-like flexibility with annuity-level rates
Who might this be right for? Someone who is…
Wanting access to their earnings before retirement age
Avoiding a large tax bill at the end of a term
Looking for a fixed-rate product without an IRS early withdrawal tax penalty
Interest earned is taxed each year, rather than at the end of the term. Withdrawals made greater than the free withdrawal amount of 10% are subject to surrender charges.
A tax-deferred MYGA designed for retirement-minded savers who want predictable, guaranteed growth with tax-deferred earnings that help accelerate their money’s growth over time.
Key benefits
Tax-deferred growth
Fixed rate between 3-10 years
No fees or commissions
Popular pick for retirement-focused savers
Who might this be right for? Someone who is…
Saving for retirement with tax-deferred interest
Earning a fixed rate over a known term
Diversifying a conservative portfolio
Taxes on interest are deferred until you withdraw funds. If you take money out before age 59½, a 10% IRS early withdrawal tax penalty may apply in addition to regular income taxes.
A tax-deferred MYGA that includes a Guaranteed Lifetime Withdrawal Benefit (GLWB), offering steady growth and an annual paycheck for life — even if your account hits $0.
Key benefits
Guaranteed income for life
Tax-deferred fixed-rate growth
No fees or commissions
Helps turn savings into a predictable retirement paycheck
Who might this be right for? Someone who is…
Looking for income they can count on in retirement
Wanting to combine guaranteed growth with guaranteed income
Hoping to avoid outliving their savings
The guaranteed rate may be slightly lower than other MYGAs because of the lifetime income benefit. IRS early withdrawal tax penalties apply if you withdraw before age 59½, and the percentage used to calculate your lifetime income depends on your age when income starts.

Hear what real customers have to say about their experience with Gainbridge — from buying online to growing their savings with confidence.2
As a first time online annuity…
As a first time online annuity purchaser I was anxious about the process. I spoke with Amanda and Tiffany at different times. Each were very helpful and patient. Tiffany especially was able to make me feel that there was someone at Gainbridge who cared about my experience and would follow through with what needed to be done to help me complete the process.

How is FastBreak™ different from other fixed annuities?
FastBreak™ is the only non-tax deferred MYGA available on the market. Non-tax deferral means you pay taxes on your interest each year — and you can access your money at any age without IRS early withdrawal tax penalties, unlike most annuities.
How are Gainbridge® rates so high?
By offering annuities directly, we eliminated the middleman, getting rid of hidden fees and commissions, putting more money back in your hands.
Can my ParityFlex™ annuity run out of money?
Your account balance can reach zero, but your income won’t stop. ParityFlex™ includes a guaranteed lifetime withdrawal benefit, so you’ll keep receiving your annual income for life.
Is Gainbridge® a trusted company?
Yes. Gainbridge® is backed by Gainbridge Life Insurance Company, rated A- (Excellent) by A.M. Best, and part of Group 1001, with over $68.5 billion in assets under management.
How does Gainbridge make money?
Gainbridge® is invested in traditional investments like corporate bonds, mortgage backed securities and similar securities.
Can I use retirement funds to buy my Gainbridge® annuity?
Yes — for most products. You can use retirement funds (like a 401(k), IRA, Roth IRA, or even funds from another annuity) to purchase SteadyPace™, OneUp™, or ParityFlex™, since they’re all tax-deferred. FastBreak™ is the only Gainbridge annuity that cannot be purchased with qualified retirement funds.
What happens if the market goes down while I have OneUp™?
You won’t lose your principal. OneUp™ offers guaranteed protection — even in a down market, you’ll still earn a 1% annual interest credit (5% total over the 5-year term).
What fees or commissions should I expect?
None. Gainbridge® sells directly to customers online — no agents, no commissions, and no annual fees.
What is the financial strength of Gainbridge®’s issuing insurance company?
Gainbridge Life Insurance Compant is rated an A- (excellent) financial strength rating by AM Best, an insurance company.
A.M. Best Company assigns ratings from A++ to S based on a company’s financial strength and ability to meet obligations to contract holders. A- (Excellent) is the 4th highest of 16 ratings. For more information about the rating, visit www.ambest.com
